Description
Lofoten is a group of islands north of the arctic circle in Norway.
Here I'm back at my grandmother's farm, shooting across a narrow fjord towards a mountain called Skottind. We've had several days of blue skies and warm weather, so now, every afternoon fog builds into low cloudbanks all along the outer edges of the islands (because of the cold sea-water). This mountain lies right at the edge of the north Atlantic, so it's surrounded by low clouds. The same mountain dominates Lofoten XXIII, where you can see that it's surrounded by open ocean. Just a kilometer further in on the island, where I'm standing, the sun contiues to shine uninterrupted.
