Strangely we've had some progs on tv about this conflict, in particular the 'Hunley'? a submarine built by the Confederates to attack the Union ships blockading the port of Charlston, VA. Very nice work. 'v'

I really like this picture, really excellent modeling on the CSS Virginia (Merrimack) for all the people from the north.;-) The image that you are using for the USS Monitor looks like it was shot well after the engagement because of the shade canopy being used on the turret. The actual engagement was fought about 5 minutes from my house where the James and Elizabeth River meets at Sewell Point in Hampton Rhodes. I really think you captured this moment, well done!!!

Thanks for the nice ccomments ! Bambam, I know the Monitor shouldn't have the canopy on, or the lifeboats, which would surely get in the way of the cannons, but, when I tried posing it "naked", the ship was so slick, that it was hard to even tell what it was. These ships were originally commissionned to be shown at The Mariners' museum in Norfolk, VA, where pieces of the original Monitor are on display.

Damn! You should submit this to one of the Civil War magazines. I'm sure they'd buy it!

Super double triple wow! This is magnificent. The tones and lighting are perfect, and the ships wakes are about the best I've seen in Bryce. Agree with zorares, this should be marketable.

Ah, shoot! I was gonna build both these vessels, I guess it's pointless now, since someone has done it now.....are you gonna sell the models, Fav'? Nice atmosphere. I think that it does need a little battle damage, though. Shot holes in the Virginia's stack, the lifeboat shot up and partially destroyed, the flags in tatters, dents in the iron sides, etc. Other than that, a very good render.

God! Who' be a sailor in a thing like this? The craft ( I won't say boats or ships) are awesome. Talk about a death wish!. Excellent in every way. One comment. Make your pics a bit smaller so that they just nicely fill the screen. You'll still tell the story and lose nothing.
