Description

Zooming in on yesterday's Dom (4545 m, 14911 ft) we can distinguish some 'minor' mountains in front of this giant (from left to right): the Nadelhorn (4327 m, 14196 ft), the Stecknadelhorn (4241 m, 13914 ft) and the Hohberghorn (4219 m, 13842 ft). I love to stare at these almost untouched landscapes, where man meets nature as his more powerful opponent. These places can be visited but will never be used for growing wheat, no cattle will find here grass to eat. A little arctic nature in the middle of Europe! Enjoy your Sunday! Yes, those places are relatively untouched by men.. I hope they will remain untouched for ever.. but I fear men will destroy those places within a short time for nothing more than money. I hate that.. those places are so beautiful as this photo can tell.

The crispness of the shears almost avoids all reference to erosion. Calling them "young" does not make that so.

Another very impressive shot here. Pointed and steep mountain peaks makes it a dangerous climb. I'm glad for the zoom in of this image as that center snow mound is ready to fall. I see many faces on the snow especially the one on the left...."Santa Claus". Excellent capture. Aloha.........
