Description

This is something I have to do. I've tried to explain to other people but they find it hard to understand. Hell I find it difficult to understand myself. I wonder if normal people feel it? Maybe I'm just a freak'n retard that has to go through the whole cathartic expression process just to find out how I really feel. Maybe it's a Darwinian protection device for my fragile psyche - that when contact to the outside world becomes too much to bear - it represses and burrows deep within - and needs then to be brought to the surface and thrust out into the open in order to simply survive. I know I have to go through this process - the things I have seen and felt - as soon as a memory appears, I have to describe it. Work it out of my head and through my hands to be viewed briefly and forgotten. Maybe I am just a selfish maniac who is wasting his time trying to transfer feelings which no one really cares about onto a screen full of pixels or on paper and canvas. Maybe the crap I do is a modern petroglyph - a modern way to blow pigment around my hand on the wall of my cave - to say

"I WAS HERE"

Not everyone is going to understand what you go through. Different people deal with pain differently. One of my best friends just died, and you should see how differently everyone deals. And they seem to think I should be dealing with it the same way. But the same way....doesn't work. ~lost

Every human emotion is unique to every human being. Every thought is unique. Every expression of every thought and emotion is unique. No one fully understands anyone unless a connection is made on an empathic or kinesthetic level. But the need to express and communicate is universal. This is excellent expression.

I'm sure the process is familiar enough to many for them to empathise with your work & your feelings, your imagery is so powerful I'm equally sure it must touch just as many who have no such experience at all but that sense of empathy & depth of feeling you evoke so strongly have a way of making mere words seem meaningless, sometimes it's hard to comment & for me that's a sign of just how good it is!
