Description
For this painting, I looked at a lot of images of Yosemite. Although this scene is no where to be found in the real Yosemite, I tried to combine elements from the different areas of the park to create a feel of this great place in an earlier time. Painted with Photoshop CS2, Painter, and a bit of Dogwaffle. This compressed version is a little less than 1/3 the original size.

This truly captures the majesty of Yosemite in so many ways - I see Half Dome, and the giant cascading waterfalls and the vista of sky and richness of the the trees and reflections. It is amazing how one little moose, in all that vastness, can capture the eye and attention so quickly. Very stunning artwork - I'm sure the original is really spectacular. V. :o) CC

Another beauty... the distant waterfall (and the half fallen tree in front of it) are nice touches. And the guy with a campfire makes the viewer dig for a story to go with the illustration. Excellent work all the way across the board.
