Description

"Methinks the lady doth protest too much" --William Shakespeare

In St. Augustine it is not unusual to see tourists and people in 17th to 18th century garb walking around together. There are many people that dress up in period authentic clothing for dramatizations, or just for effect. I believe this young lady was working for the tourism industry in some fashion, perhaps to promote guided historic bus tours, or perhaps for the ghost tours which the city is famous for. You don't get to be the oldest European spawned U.S. city without picking up a few ghosts along the way. ;o] Anyway, this young lady was probably a student at Flagler college, working part time to help with school expenses. I was drawn to the graceful lacework of her lovely outfit, and of course, her bright smile. ----- St. Augustine: Partial History of the USA's Oldest City, Part 2 Today, the heart of St. Augustine retains the distinctive plan of a 16th century Spanish Colonial walled town, much of which has been preserved or restored. The numerous remaining colonial buildings in the historic district present an impressive array of architecture from 1703 to 1898. Some of the most noted buildings in the district are located on the Plaza de la Constituci
