Description

Not very original name I know *s* .. but since the image is mainly the product .. Music Room by Darkworld / Elusion Vick model Hair from Digital Babes Post work: Dress, and did an auto contrast at 50%in PS. I wanted to get this room into Bryce and see what I could do with it and how hard it would be to play with it in Bryce. . The models import fine separately or as a group (I used Grouper so I could select easily) Each model is soo detailed and ungroups really well. Depending on the amount of lights you want in the image it can be a fair load but this scene rendered in about 2 hours , I have 9 radial lights (with the nude Vicki and hair) . I am on a AMDAthlon 1200, 500 ram. 64 mg. g force3 video card, Bryce 4 The sconce come apart so that I could put lights right in . The textures translated very well into Bryce ..so I used the textures even on the glass of the scones .. this gave me the etching effect you see and made the lights do fantastically real . Nothing fancy with the light .. plain old radials . For each model I just left the textures as they came in .. but because they come apart so well you could easily tweak separately the texture on each part of the model , I have not even tried to see what they will look light with the specularity and so on tweaked. In short the detail of both the models and the textures make these models great for Bryce work and I am a happy camper *s*.

I love the image, it's nice but not original, is it? Another thing, contrare to popular opinion, your gaming card has nothing to do with Bryce 4's renderers, except for preview mod in Direct 3D or Open GL. Not being a punk, just making sure no one here has any illusions about the GeForce cards.

Not original?? .. er yes off course it is inso far as anything made with purchased modes here is. I do not understand the remark I am afraid . The model it's self is available at Daz.. I exported it into Bryce and moved the individual models were I wanted them and then set up the lighting . So unless you only consider an image modeled and textured by you your self as original then again I have to take exception to the remark. If you have seen any of my work then you will know that yes I also model the occasional model and make textures as well as digitally paint from scratch .. I simply did this to share how I found this model to work with in Bryce..thinking that PERHAPS it may be of interest to someone thinking of purchasing it, believe me next time I will not take the time to do so.

First of all, Laurie, a HUGE thank you for all the help testing (we only gave the Music Room to two HIGHLY demanding and incredibly talented artists, LisaB and Laurie S)and for the great critiques. What you have done with the room in Bryce is amazing, and although it was built for Poser, its really wonderful to see how well it works in another application. Secondly, darkelf420 , if you are "not being a punk", what exactly was the intention of your comment? The scene set up (which is very different from the out of the box scene), the use of Bryce for the render, the incredible work on the lighting which even picks up the frosted parts of the shades, the elegant figure by the window, etc are entirely original and represent a lot of very hard work on the artist's part. The fact that there is almost no post render (except for the dress and hair of the lady by the window) is a very courageous and interesting departure for Laurie. She made this image to show me the room in Bryce, and she shared it with all (and her masterful technique) at my insistence. Thank you Laurie...this almost gives me the courage to enter Bryce and give it a whirl again myself...beautiful work! And don't EVER let the punk trolls make you change a single pixel or stop sharing the beautiful images you create.

Laurie! This is wonderful! So detailed and you are right, it went into Bryce beautifully :) For me, it's the lights in the sconce that kicks big time :) What a wonderful detail to think of and add! Thanks for all of the tips shared!!!

This is just stunning; I had no idea the lights could be made to look so real. I love what you have done with the props as well, gathering them to one side while the character looks thoughtfully out the window. Very beautiful lighting and shadows, and It's wonderful to see the intricate textures working so well in Bryce, thank you Laurie! =)

I'm sorry I missed commenting on this one. It's Gorgeous, Laurie! I really love the (original) way you arranged the room and what you've done with the lights. I tried and tried with the lights in Poser and couldn't come close to this. :) The (original) lady looking out the window is gorgeous. I love the way you painted her dress. I'd really love to be as talented as you are with Bryce, as well. Thanks for posting your (original) mini-review and the (original) methods you used. :)

No matter what anyone says they cant take away the fact that your a brilliant artist. Your gallery is top notch. I see nothing wrong with being creative with models given to you to test, and a fantastic job I may add. You have given us tremendously informative tutorials along the way. That alone is a great thing! Dont let a few critics take away your natural kindness and artistic creativity. be blessed!

Warmest greetings Laurie S. First, although I know squinty-squat about 3D modeling, I know enough from looking that most are exceptionally challenging programs to learn - much less master as you obviously have done. Comments like that made by darkelf420 are not only rude, arrogant and erroneous, they flow from the pure folly of supposition. There's not an artist alive past, present or off in the future who does not nor will not COPY from life in one way or another. We all work from things seen, perceived, and interpreted, then present same in ways that reflect our insight and appreciation of subject. When you dress up for an evening on the town and someone says, "Oh you look beautiful", they don't say, "Nice, but you didn't create the clothes or make the perfume". So NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER let the inane ramblings of so shallow an opinion interfere with either your beautiful renderings, nor the kindness you exhibit through your desire to share with others.
