Just a hobbyist who started with Bryce some years ago and moved to Poser/Carrara when that proved too limiting. Always been interested in doing character portraits.
BIOI got into the hobby dreaming of doing character portraits for RPGs but thinking it was beyond me. Both with practice and the right tools, it caem within reach.
Recently I've homed in on an "illustrated" style that is the look I've always wanted to achieve and I've been focusing on that.
Hope you enjoy it.

Beautiful hand-drawn feel. And what sorceress wouldn't summon some good tea?

Hi, all, I really appreciate the comments. BTW if you have some specific constructive criticisum on composition, color, pose, whatever, I'd love to hear it. For instance, does this slanting layout with her looking to right work for you? I'm not sure I made the right call there. Marc

I think that the composition is OK, maybe the hands holding the book are not really necessary ... But it is still great stuff :)

I think her looking to the right enhances her conjuring up the cup while distracted by her reading. The composition works very well for me but I might agree about the hands. Since the book is levitated the hands may be a bit redundant.

Good thoughts on the hands. They also don't have the same feel as the rest. I could set them apart with an aura and make them less transparent but they might be better gone altogether. I was afraid that without them, people wouldn't get the book floating ;-). Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated.
