Description

Photograph made with my Nikon D70S and a Tamron lens 18-200 mm. No post-work, natural light, and just framed with Photoshop 7.

Another photography of the "Taverne du Moulin" outside of the ruins of the Abbey of Villers, where I go to shot with Michel (GiMi53) last week when I was in Belgium with him. Old stones and a magic atmosphere in this place. And of course... delicious Belgium beer ;o))))

When this photograph slowly showed itself on my computer screen, I felt that the tones and colours are that of a Rembrandt painting. The warmth is so wonderful and i wish i could have been there too.

I adore the light on the old arch, which manages to make the new arch look a tad frightened by it's surroundings. I can almost smell the damp, the wine and the passing people who have laughed and cried over a drink here. A beautiful story told with sensitivity. I have just noticed the light on the table top - you could eat this picture!

The darker colors of the stonework would make for an intimate atmosphere, perfect for sharing stories and a brew or two. Thank you for sharing this!
