Description

There is a reason why the saying "Cats have nine lives" This one must have use 8 of them here. What happen was I got in my truck and started it then back up out of my drive way. I saw the mother cat come running up to the truck but stop; looking at the front of the truck. first time I ever saw this happen and I was to dumb to understand. I started to drive off and stop at the end of the street and looked in the rear mirrow and saw the black baby cat flopping around on the road. I know then the cat was in my motor and I know that cat was dead. I seen it happen before a few times. Not nice to look at. I when and got the cat and I was surpise he was alive. So I took it to a animal hospitol and they wanted $375 to look at it and tell me if it going to live. I walk out of that place and put the cat in the hands of the Lord. now this was after 5pm and all vets was close too. I remember my dad had a cat that was run over from head to tail. He saw it was alive but ready to die too. He brought his cat in the house and lay it down so it can die in peace. 3 days later he wake up to something running around in the house and it was that cat. Live many years and no broken bones. Sorry to get side track but that what I was thinking about as I drove home. The next day I came home and find the cat still alive so I put it by some water for it got behind the book case. It drink water then I saw it eating then it walk to the cat litter and used it lol. I know the cat was going to make it. Today my wife took it to the vet and he say the rightside of the brain is damage the ear is going[torn from the root canal] the eye is damage but may come back ok. He give it a shot and give it some other things too. The cat will live and the side of his face will go down back to a more norm look; it all puff up now. All I know is the cat was on my motor of the truck and it was ok then it jump off and my wheel caught it on the side of his head. no broken bones; just the skull is crack but he be ok. At lest that is what I think happen and he yell and the mother cat heard him which is wild to me; over the motor that was running. He plays with is brother and mother too and act norm to me. He keeps away from my big head male cat[ you saw him with is face all cut up from fighting]. But he knows the black cat is hurt so he donot brother it. This is a shot that I did not do nothing in photoshop it just a shot that was resize as most of my shots are.

amazing story Jock. I know how you feel. I ran over a puppy many years ago, but the puppy did not make it.makes you sick to your stomach, but even worse if it was a human being that you hit

I'm sorry Jock, but I wish I had not seen this photo. The story is a hopeful one, except for the part about brain damage. I had a brain tumor (in my left temporal lobe) removed in 1997. Right after I left the hospital everyone looked at me with shock and horror because I looked like that little cat did. The left side of my head was extremely swollen and my left eye was just about swollen shut and black and blue. I will never be the same, nor will that cat. Pay close attention to it, Jock. My prayers go out to it.

So sad story, but we all we can make the little furball healthy by all us praying and sending positive energy to the cat. You did your best Jocko that is all that matters. The little guy loves you for it. :P

My neighbors cat had a whole litter once and they climbed up on the motor of his 1960 Pontiac to stay warm. When he started it in the morning they all jumped into the fan and fan belts. The mechanic summoned to fix the engine which had lost all it's belts refused to touch the carnage. This kitty had a special place intended. I hope you both get over it.

I am not much of a believer in God, but I do believe that nothings happens without purpose. I think you were meant to get this cat and learn from it. It needed a home and to be taken care of, and the universes awesome complexity placed it int he path of a person who would care for it. Great to see you didnt miss the signs :)

Incredible history Jock....!!! The first blow of view gives the sensation of being a picture with a postwork, but what you count is really astonishing, but him but astonishing of everything it is that the cat lives in spite of the accident....!!!

That you took the kitty to the vet to save it shows how big a heart you have, Jock. So many would have simply left it to die without a second thought. You're a good man.

I have had lots of critters and I don't think a whole lot of vets, I lost my favorite dog last year because of vets. It is always amazing when an animal pulls through so much trauma, He is a lucky kitty! One day this will not even be a memory to him! ( I have to say I tripped out when I first saw the photo)8-)

I live in Montreal Canada have see this happen a few times in the winter months the little fellows out in the cold will crawl under a car, pickup etc., jump up into the engine bay. I live in a condo 10 floors up five years ago my cat was out on the patio jumped on a railing and fell to a concrete terrace 10 floors down. I thought he was dead for sure. Believe this or not the only injury sustained was a sprained hind quarter. Take care of that little guy Jock !
