Excellent edit!!! And the thumbnail wasn't appealling at all but now I'm glad I looked!

I hate zoos!! and I think the background doesn't work here IMHO. Too dark, it makes it difficult to see the vultur properly. His/her contours are lost, being of the same tones than the background. just my 2 pennies! ;)

OOOOH!!! What a nasty fella. Look at them paws...and shaved head. He surely got picked on (lol...picked on....get it? Like chickens...sigh) in school huh? Have a great day. #:O)

Richard, While I think buzzards are about the ugliest bird I have ever seen, lol, this is an exceptional image! Your background works wonderfully well by the way! Had you caught this guy in his natural habitat, you might have been able to choose a different background, but the big bird is certainly visible, the reddish brown shows off his darker feathers really well. Even the back of his head which is more of a buff color shows up because the cliffs behind him are reddish brown! An excellent photograph! Leanndra

Now there are many who think that these birds are ugly, because they have pink heads, but I figure they are as regal as an eagle, they're just bald! They play an essential part in a ballanced eco system, so to me, they will always be great looking birds!!
Maori
Sheeeesh!!!! This birds may be ugly, but they can do some beautiful soaring in the skies.. Great detailed photo. Thanks for sharing Richard.
