Description

For those of you who liked the photomanips that MJR and I collaborated on, you might have missed two that MJR posted in the 2D gallery, the following links will take you there. Where do you get your models ? Where do you get your models 2? The pics and his stories are very funny. Be sure to check them out. -----0X0----- Today's pic is another from my Native American series. This young lady was dressed out in her Native American outfit, waiting to go on stage for judging. She looks deep in thought or prayer. I did a little playing around with some filters and the gradient tool to get the effect shown. I appreciate all the wonderful comments and please feel free to critique my work. I'm a big boy and can take what you have ,,LOL ENJOY TODAY

I agree....what is there to critique??? HONESTLY??? Hmmm...must find something...must find something....hmmm....the only thing that i think could improve this is the color of your frame. Not really my cup of tea, lol. But your "mixed" photo is absolutely brilliant!!! AS ALWAYS!!! Have a wonderful day Ray...and yes of course, paint away. #:O)

I like the composition, the concept, and the model but I too am not fond of the blue. Not sure what color would be better but i think it needs to be darker. Maybe one of the feather colors?

Interesting color effects. She does look like she is praying and hoping that everything goes ok. I don't know what to critique or suggest, but I wonder what she would look like naturally with no change. Aloha

What a FABULOUS idea that you executed quite wonderfully!!!! i love the image of the girl and the postwork!!! suggestions? hmmm...well, just something to think about...i would try this in b/w maybe. there's so much going on in this image for me, and i think if it were in b/w perhaps, it might look a bit less...uh...what's the word????...uh...well...there's just a lot of texture and color in the image...hard for me to focus on it. could just be that i'm having a bad ADHD day! LOL! Seriously....that's what i do. i think it would add to the intensity of the image too. Wonderful work, Ray! i really like this one! :)

How can one critique on perfect work. I wouldn't embarass myself. I hope that someday my work is half as good as yours!

My only suggestion would be to tone down the artificial backgound, not lose it but deepen the tonal range so it doesn't fight the figure. The pensive moment was a great capture, and the post on it is really interesting; very well done.

Very interesting effect - the postwork seems to give the headdress a sort of oriental feel! But perhaps that's just me. I'm always impressed with your creativity and vision to see these things, Ray. Wonderful work!

Captured at this angle, she looks more european and less native american, but still is a beautiful, regal looking girl. I really like the beaded postwork effect you came up with. Those were 2 really fun collabs with mjr that you did as well!

This is ugly! It's awful! It's--Oh, hi! I was just talking about myself... Seriously, what's to camplain about? I wonder about the apparent motion in the background, but that's a mystery, not an issue. The effect is very creative and well-placed, and I like the cornflower blue. She does look more anglo than Native American, but so do I... And I don't think it hurts her looks! :D
