Description

For years the fruit of the prickily pear cactus has been made into candy and jelly. Recent studies have suggested that it may also have medicinal value, this only means the the price of this ruby red fruit is going to skyrocket. Just got called into work tonight so I'd better try to catch a few zzzzzzz. Thanks for stopping to take a look. All comments are most appreciated. In Hawaii, we called it Panini. My grandfather would pick it with caution as the tiny hairs on the fruit itself would stick in your skin. Clean it up and you'll have a very tasty and sweet fruit. It does in a way taste like candy. Thanks for the memories. Aloha

Nice shot and a bountiful crop! Haven't eaten these in a long time. I used to singe the little hairs with a flame to help from getting stuck.
