Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 and 4.01 - Apophysis 1 Here's a fractal composition that sorta just took off on me and wasn't sure if it wanted to be a seascape or an abstracted jungle scene. It sat in my WIP folder for a good while trying to figure out who/what it was. Seascape or jungle abstract? The answer ended up "yes"! lol So I added a "lighthouse" shrouded in fog and updated the light with a new lighting layer I made a while back and and voila! (yes, "voila" - not "viola", that's a baby cello and not "Walla", either - half of THAT is in Washington state - lol) The lighthouse is made using the sam.uxf-Platonic Solids and the mt/ufm-Pixel formula with Standard.ucl-Gradient. Just 5 cubes stacked with a tetrahedron(pyramid - yeah, I didn't know what that was either til it rendered - lol) on top and an orbit traps ball of light. Great news on the job front: I have TWO job offers as of this week! Neither pays quite as well as the job I had, but the difference is pretty small and I think we can handle it, Joie and I. Actually, one job pays 100% of medical/dental and, if you add in the $$ saved by that, it's actually a small raise. Cool beanz! They are in very different areas of electronics and so I'll be stressing over the decision til Monday when I need to let them know. Funny thing: We spent a bunch of $$ for a new suit for me to interview in (thank you, Ultrafractal, for making me sit obsessed in front of this pc the last 2 1/2 years and quitting the gym! ;-) lol) since my old one didn't fit. Well, both comapanies stressed that they were casual and not to bother with a suit and tie - go figure! lol Actually, I did wear a tie to the first one. I almost forgot how to tie it but, thank God for inspiration, whatever I did ended up a pretty decent full Windsor knot. And I only ever knew how to do a half Windsor, before. So, I just loosened it and pulled it off over my head and it hangs in the closet pre-tied for when I need to wear a tie again - in like 10 years! lol Thanks for stopping by and for all of your heartening concern of this last few months as I stressed over the impending plant closure. Rick

Hello Rick - lovely 'mistical ' : sorry , mystical picture ! Seriously , your lake and the delicate ripples are so well portrayed with the mist gently rising into the cold and austere night sky . I like the manner in which the purity of the natural elements gracefully complements the life-like forms on the left . Xcellent stUFf --- C-ya , Mike !

i myself like especially the movement and the mystical/misty mood of the jungle-side. i favor the livelyness of the jungle over the calm and peaceful sea.

Mmm! To be honest, I'm a bit so,so on the image, but am glad the lighthouse has proved a beacon in getting your lifestyle back on track. Suits! I've got two. I'm sure they'll fit somebody. Ties! You should practice every day. I did once. Ghastly things, but the bosses like them. Why? Anyway, idiot comments but I'm very pleased for you. Cliff.

Now you have to go back to work? You didn't even get a chance to collect unemployment. When are you going to build these images? Are you sure that you have the right priorities? ;~) I like the colors in this one.

Mindblowing !!! Good luck with your new job. Hopefully it won't keep you away from fractals for too long though. Hey, but you can gym in front of your computer. Like this: put both legs on your desk, straighten them out and just bend forward now and then - just for the muscle spasms when you grab the coffee mug. !!! :-))))

Fantastic work. Favour the jungle side. You make it sound so easy to build a lighthouse. Once again proof of your technical skills in UF. Besides the obvious feel for texture and colour. Congrats on the job offers!
