Description

My first real stab at matte painting. Foreground elements (Wall, ferns and arm), plus the swirling leaves are 3d constructs rendered in Cinema4d. Everything else is 2d, composited in Photoshop, taken from various web sources. Hope you can see it ok. I did the work on a new computer with a much better monitor than the one which I use for internet access, and the image appears much darker on it for some reason, even though I've recalibrated it. Let me know if it's too dark and I'll adjust it. Thanks for looking and any comments you care to leave. Ian

An excellent first one, matte painting can be so impressive when done properly and you did an amazing job! The image and contrast seem fine on my computer, not too dark at all.

That hand is (i.m.h.o.) a bit over the top. But having written that: very well done!

An outstanding debut! The right balance of light and shadow focusing on the house. If i may suggest adjusting the colour of the light in the window to a more sombre yellow or beams radiating out. Also i agree with riko the hand is a bit much with such a stong composition.
