Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I surely would love to live there! Beautiful scenery!

Light is good to the convergence limit where no more focus is possible. I gave my first son the middle name Angstrom to celebrate this. His mother would not allow it to be his first name. Ther are always limits even when they cannot at first be seen.

Yes it's a very good idea. And it's incredible that at a distance of 5 km you could have some details as this chalet ! You've got an excellent lens and teleconverter. When I worked with the Coolpix 5700 of Giancarlo and his 500mm... it was difficult to have a good result as yours. That was for the technical result... but I'm always in love with this landscape and the forest ;o))) Have a nice day Jan-Carel. Hugssssssssss

what a beautiful view of the valley, Jan-Carel!!! what are those little house things i notice in the trees (the green trees)? are those bird houses? are they the roofs of regular houses? my eyes aren't that great...hard to make it out. i really like how you composed this, and so neat to see that close up! You got a nice zoom there! now quit talkin' about strawberries! you're makin' me hungry!!! :)
