Description

Just testing some things out with this render. It had a lot of potential, but then I somehow put a silly face on her, which detracts a lot from the image. And strange divot also appeared under her left rib. Given the opportunity to re-render, I'd blur the main light shadows a lot more. Re-rendering is not that simple. I found some limits. Given the huge shadow map sizes, I found the floor caused the render to hang. The floor has AO and Gather applied to it - the effect is only subtle, but I quite like it. Was it worth the render time? Maybe not. Anyway, the only way to render big shadow maps with the complex ray-traced effects on the floor was to render once without the ray-traced AO and gather, and re-use the shadow maps. Then re-render, reusing the shadow maps, with AO and Gather on! Just rendering the shadow maps took over 30 mins. I think her abs and legs is the best ZBrush work I've come up with so far. Althoguh her knees could be better placed on the floor. I modelled the bikini in Wings. The top strap was stretched in ZBrush. The effect didn't work out quite like it should have, but was worth a try. Oh, and a quick plug for my new forum - check it out for product info, updates and tutorials - http://www.physicalc-software.com/forum/ - lots more to be added in the next couple of months. No postwork.

I quite like the divot myself - think of it as a dimple, and it's a whole lot cuter. That bikini strap is unbelievably stretchy, though...

Nothing wrong with the divot at all. It looks like it results from her leaning in that direction. The abdomen is fantastic. The hair rendered wonderfully. The upper arms look like they are a bit stretched. Overall, a very good image, a few tweaks would make it top-notch. (I noticed your site had moved. Can't wait to see what you have done with the new one!)

The Gather effect on the floor looks great to me. Really gives it that "radiosity" type of look. However, I wonder if you could have used raytraced reflections with some blur added to produce a very similar or perhaps the same effect in less time? Morphs look great, and so does the skin. Maybe just a little too much redness under the arms and on the face, but otherwise excellent!

Great work. The morphs are really great. I think that the arms do look just a little wrong to me, perhaps it maybe an optical illusion with the underside of the elbows. Nice bikini too. Excellent, Steve:)

On that divot..I'm finding you really have to overdo some modeling to have an effect. So it is to me, one of the best surprises(just needs a tweak). Has that chaos effect which teases the eye. Knees are beautiful but undersized, imo. Lots of material with only one way to expand...on the X axis. Even athletes. Hip structure is my fav and lights are humming here. Gather, appears to be expensive. Seems to overpower contact shadows and blurs floor and body together, though it works on her left foot. It is indeed your best (so far) especially with the difficult feats at play.

Very nicely posed and lit. I think I would have just made it look like the straps were untied instead of super stretchy. Other than that, I love the way the bikini bottom cuts into the skin. The elbows do look a bit odd though.

Paul this is real stunning, the face is 100% believable (not a modell but realistic woman next door!) The way the bikini cuts the flesh is fantastic, shoulders and thights are top, the dimple on her left rib looks realistic for the pose and human body is never perfect, it brings life into the render... Now my crits: The hair should hang straight down on her left side and the bikini strings after the hands also IMO. The right ellbow is maybe to flat in Z, pls check with your lady...To show the contact shadows on the floor i would love a much bigger render, it presents small effects better. Here it blurrs knees and floor together, maybe simply not enough pixels? On my photo references the shadow starts black on contact point and then gets the color of skin. Anyway you have spend a lot of time for realism and research here and it pays off! ~Uwe
