Reminds me of the Orion Project or maybe Daedalus. I'm guessing the long center hull is the engine and fuel supply, say a mass driver or some kind of particle beam drive. Hmm... in case of catastrophic engine failure, the habitat ring is released from its support clamps and is flung forward while the about-to-explode engine core falls behind.

Nice job as always; I know most SF artists like their ships dirtied up a bit. While that works for smallcraft landing on planets, I wonder just how much dirt larger spaceships would collect. The International Space Station and satellites look pretty clean to me even after years in orbit. Just putting in my two cents worth . . .
