Description

This first posting of a new series I dedicate to Rita a.k.a. sossy. You have been very busy last weeks and I wanted to cheer you up in all the hustle and bustle you have gone thru, with this little bunch of floral gold! Today it is the day of the big hike! I plotted a course on the detailed topographical map (Swisstopo has many kinds of maps, and I'm used to hike using 1:25000 (today) or 1:50000) from Martisberg to the Eggishorn. The road is leading there to 1695 m (5561 ft), but... how disappointing traffic is not allowed from 1343 m (4406 ft) as I find out when a sign tells me to stop! Oops! Hmmm. The top of the Eggishorn is situated on 2927 m (9602 ft) and that means an ascent (and descent) of not the planned 1232 m (4041 ft), but 1584 m (5196 ft)! Uh oh.... Well, I decide to go and see how far I can come. I can always stop and return, there's no obligation at all! So well, there I go, starting to walk on the road. The weather is fine although some clouds cover the Eggishorn. Hmmm, we'll see. While I am walking I see some rare flowers (I don't post that one here, it does not look beautiful, it's just a nice botanical record for me, the field cottonrose or field cudweed (Filago arvensis) that ought the be just rare) and a little further I pass these flowers, italian toadflax or pale toadfloax (Linaria angustissima), blooming in all their beauty! So this one is for you, Rita! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 100 mm and cropped) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments
