Description

Been a while since I've posted here - working on some other projects. I note there hase been a few spaceship pictures here so I thought I'd send in this one for you to look at. It's a bit cartoony but that is also deliberate - this ship features in a story I have yet to write. Anyway here it is - modelled mostly in tS 3.2 - quite a while ago - and now substantially tweaked in tS 5.1. Please let me know what you think....

Yes I like the cartoonish look too, reminds me a little at scifi classics like Flash Gordon !

Nice work Wiz! I agree, does remind me of Flash Gordon but also in some way it looks a bit like a babbelfish from the origional Hitch Hiker's TV series. When do we get to see some of your latest stuff?

I think... it's Great to see something from the WZRD! Been wondering what you've been up to. The ship looks great! As for the tale it goes with - ah my, the stories we have that never get written! At least in this case it gets illustrated! Nice to see something from you!

only thing that might need a touchup is the exhaust..either some light for flame, or a little wispy for smoke..it has a certain solidity to it that confused me (but I'm easily confused..;) great stuff..the world needs more spaceships..

Hi Mate. Very Flash Gordon. Excellent work. Im loving the vapour trails but I agree with pakled, some flame from the engines would be a nice touch. Steve.

Thank you for the kind words friends! o-q - you could make wee ship for your wee man! Pelican- Thanks for this comment - that's exactly the 'feel' I was going for. j3d_cg - cheers John - I hadn't made the babelfish connection but you are right - just needs a big suckery thing on the front! John and Judee3d - the mysterious 'other stuff' I've been doing is for a halloween contest over at (Whispers) 3d commune. I've got one entry in in two more almost ready to go - when the contest is over I'll post the entry's here for you to see. pakled and madmouse (Hi Steve) thanks guys - your comments about the exhaust are appreciated. It was difficult getting the look I wanted - and I'm still not completely satisfied with it. I wanted to steer away from traditional flames and blue ion glows to give the idea of a completely differnt type of propulsion. More on that if the story ever gets written!! Thanks for the comments everyone.

This is fantastic! It reminds me of covers to many sci-fi books I read as a teenager! At first I thought "He shoud smooth the surface.." But the more I look at it, the more I am certaine that it is perfect the way it is! The angle, perspective and the lighting, Hell the textures and flame effect, are all perfect!! this is a rockin' retro comic style master piece!! Bravo!!!

nice scoutship design; I especially like the instrument probes sticking out from the main hull: good job!

Flash Gordon would prefer the exhaust to rise straight up. Good work!
