Description

Still a bit overwhelmed by emotions I look to the Mittelaletschgletscher (German speaking people combine words without '-', so it is actually Mittel-aletsch-gletscher, the Middle Aletsch Glacier), one of the side-glaciers of the Grosse (Great) Aletschgletscher. The clouds move here and there (entirely unpredictable as usual in the mountains LOL!) but they don't take away the vista fortunately! Time to hike over a track of boulders to the top of the Eggishorn! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 35 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

I am always amazed at glaciers...this little one has receded substantially...I imagine at one time it and the larger one were one huge ice mass. We are witness to geological history. A beautiful image.

Awesome! Simply an Awesome view and photo! I just love that cool blue sky and those fluffy white clouds! The mountain you are about to climb is the one right directly in front of you with the shadow on it? It looks very steep!! I sure hope you are very cautious Jan-Carel~!! Looking foward to more pics on the way up. VOTE :-)
