Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

This is a breathtaking and stunning view. Your detail commentary of your hike makes it all the more exciting. I know that feeling of walking at high altitudes that leaves you breathing like an old man. Then again, I feel that way at sea level, lol. You sure take your body to the extreme limits. Hats off to you young man. Excellent Tour and Hike. Aloha

I don't agree - not a crappy image at all - I really like this one a lot. The composition is excellent and an interesting subject well captured. If I were to change anything it would be to introduce a bit of local contrast by using the unsharp mask at: Amount 45, Radius 60, threshold 0, to really bring out the light here. Superb shot :)

What an excellent shot and your description made me feel as though I was on the hike too. An emotional journey.

What do you mean crappy?! These are real life pictures, experienced and felt and taken at a moment's notice. I can understand the difficulties of the trek, especially when you are climbing at 45 degrees. This is a really wonderful picture. The people on the ridge gives it a fine perspective! Have a good weekend.

Hey look at that!!! Hiker-buddies!!! Wow, seeing how tiny they look really makes you understand that were no match to mother nature if she were to launch an avalanche or something. Gorgeous capture of these white mountains, blue sky, white clouds...and grey fog. You say this is crappy...well i say it EXCELLENT! Have a great one!!!! Hike away. #:O)
