Description

A recent commission for a magazine cover and editorial illustration, based on the current 2D XBox 360 logo, but made to look more tangible and real, in true 3D. The orb was textured using only procedural shaders, mainly noise and gradients, as well as an HDRI in the environment channel. Cinema 4D9. :)

I despise the X-box for stealing Halo from Apple, but that does not effect my admiration for your stellar work. Very proffesional! You da-man!!

Awesome work Adam. You've created something that certainly has great depth and there's wonderful use of shaders. Can't wait to try all this out, it's on its way!! Excellent stuff, Steve:)

WOW! Inside the cube, is that a real light or is that on the wall "just" some sort of gradient texture. That makes a fine cover ;)

Thanks very much everyone! - petz_e, yes, there are volumetric lights as wll as the gradients on the inner walls. :)

Excellent job!! At first I thought it was some wild, metal-covered fruit from a distant planet : ) I haven't seen that issue of 3Dworld. I'll have to run out and find one.

Wow guys! - what a great response to something so 'simple'! - I mean - it wasn't simple to make at all, but it looks quite basic really! - thanks for all your comments! :)
