Ganz watched from the watch-tower, on top of the tallest building in Trashtown. He stared as the drama unfolded below in the basin of the Talak River. He was just to the right of the huge coolant pipes from the Atmospheric Purifier. It ran day and night and became part of the Trashtowner's life. It gave fresh air, drank from the river and roared night and day with muted thunder that became a reassuring part of life. Down of the silted over coolant pipes, a dance of violence was underway. Toxic turned from the doorawy into the APC and said in surprise to the robot landing next to the door, "Hello! What are you?" It landed and stated, "Police Collectors! Come out with your hands up! You are all under arrest by Authority of City 64, Nova Paradisio!" "What? What is 'arrest'?" She was confused. " I'm not under anything." "You are to be returned to Nova Paradisio for psycho-theraputic treatments. You are mentally ill. Come along quietly, and you will not be harmed." The robot sounded very reasonable to be so stupid, she thought. She thought for a moment. and said simply with a smile, "Sorry. No can do. I have to save my friends who are running out of air, and I just don't have time to play with you. I might get to blow something up! I can't pass that up!" Narchi came up to the door to watch. He remarked casually, "Oh, THAT is a SANE sounding statement!" The robot grabbed her by the arm. She broke away with superhuman quickness and power. She leapt through the air and flipped into the ankle-deep water next to the cat-tails. "HEY! NO TOUCHEE! You grabby machine guy, you!" She shouted at the robot. Narchi stepped up and said to the robot, "Leave her alone! She never did anything, you stupid box!" He KNEW this was a stupid move to do. Emotions over-ride the brain, though. It turned it's cold blue camera-eye on him and remarked, "The Bakemano have no place in human affairs. You will be put down if you interfere." Narchi painted a flying robot with the remote's target acquirer laser. "Hey, massa! I AIN'T NO SERVANT! FUCK YOU, PAL!" The safeties on the infinite repeator clcked off with a KCHAK! Hell broke loose. Another robot landed behind Toxic and fired it's paralyszer into her back. She staggered and almost fell. That robot cranked up it's power level and fired again. She almost screamed. She choked back her urge to scream. Her father had told her to never scream. Unless all hope was gone. Narchi backflipped through the air, as the robot next to him swung to swat him. He rode the blow up into the air. He thought fast as he fell toward the ground. The Collector behind Toxic, cranked up the power another notch, causing her to fall to her knees, her nerves on fire. She knew, if something happened to her--Jin and Ruiz would die. They would suffocate. She was their only hope. The Infinite Repeator on the cab-roof of Narchi's APC opened up on the third of the Collector robots. It was winging in to add it's fire power to bring down Toxic. Up on the tower, Ganz shouted to T-9, his robot companion, "T-9! Gimme my rifle! I can't wait for snipers up here, anymore!
