Description

Hi all, after my old work "double render" ( link : here) with a comparision from 3d studio e vue 4 pro, is time of a new experiment (and hope a nice image too...) using vue 5 easel. I think render engine of vue is really improved ! not yet like a big one like 3d studio... but the future smile to Vue and to e-onsoftware... time of rendering : 3d studio 12 minutes, vue 2 hours. C&C are very welcome !! credits... all made by myself using standard female figure of poser 5 Luca.

Personally, I prefer the Vue render because the shadows are more realistic. Regardless, a great model and render, I love this kind of art!

Splendid examples of beauty!! I too prefer the Vue render ~ the face is clearer it seems but both of them are excellent. Bravo!

The statue and the floor are much more clearer in the second image. But the wall looks very washed out. The wall is very much better in the first image. I would love a rendersystem that is a combination of both. :)

Agree with Sabra, the Vue render looks better, shadows are more realistic and precise, and the volumetrics are nicer. But to make a true comparison, you would've needed to use radiosity for the Vue render too, in Infinite or Esprit, because radiosity treat shadows differently than GI. The Vue render engine is very good at GI and GR, imho, but way too slow. 12 mn vs 2 hours. And how long would've taken with GR in Vue? Maybe one more hour.

yes bruno, your comment is correct, anyway if someone wnat to make test let me know, i can provide the vue scene or the max scene... why about a triple render with bryce or cinema4d ???

I think you summed it up well with this line - "I think render engine of vue is really improved". I agree, the Vue render engine has come forward a long way in the last couple of versions, especially in the lighting department. Cool experiment :)

The lighting is so much better in the Vue render - beautiful work with that statue

another info... i'm a "good" user of vue and a "not so good" user of max ! so maybe the max 3d render could be VERY improve by a REALLY good user of max !!

I fail to see how this is a true comparision. Wouldn't it be possible to make the 3d max render look more like the vue render? Or visa versa? This experiment shows more the ability of how well the user renders and sets up a scene for the final renders to look the same. The experiment is contrived. All it does prove vue render engine is slow. But I see you already have admitted that in your last post. Nonetheless, it is a nice render. Good job.

You could go over to CGTalk & get someone there to have a go with it. There are some very, very good V-Ray renders there. V-Ray is second only to Maxwell IMO. Vue is improving, I doubt it will get to high-end status without a big price hike.

I prefer the Vue render. The statue seems clearer, yet I prefer the light beam in the Max render...
