Description

"The dream of living in a lighthouse baby, every single day. The dream of living in a lighthouse, the white one by the bay. So if you want to make my dreams come true, You'll be a lighthouse keeper too. We could live in a lighthouse The white one by the bay,hey hey. Won't that be okay. Yada tada ta ta ta." --further selected lyrics from - I Want To Marry A Lighthouse Keeper (by Erika Eigen)

This photo is dedicated to Egmont, who has always wanted to live in a lighthouse. Here is an exterior view of the lighthouse taken from a tour boat on St. Augustine bay. I took several shots, but this one with the spit of land in the foreground seemed to work the best compositionally. The lyrics above are from a song I first heard while watching the movie A Clockwork Orange. The tune stuck with me and you can read the first half of the lyrics at this previous gallery post: St. Augustine Lighthouse - 3 Views. I wish I could play it for you, it is quite catchy. Aside from on the soundtrack, you could also here is on Erkica Elgen's one and only album, Sound of Sunforest. You can read about it HERE. Now you know what you can get me for Christmas! 8o] ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your enlightened views on my last photo, Illuminated Landing.

Thank you very much Kort. This is a wonderful place to kick ones feet up and just have a look out on to the ocean. Later in the evening, all wrapped in blankets, reading a book and listing to the sound of the surf. At least the lighthouse is far enough inland not to be surrounded by water and have waves crashing in on it. Living in a lighthouse is a romantic notion I am sure, but one that fuels the imagination as I feel the ghost of sailors from previous ship wrecks pay me a visit. Guess that is why I also loved the movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Thank you for a wonderful dedication Kort. ;~)

Well dear Egmont has more stamina than I. It would kill me all those stairs and you couldn't turn the lights out when you went to bed LOL. Strange stripes, is the keeper a hairdresser in his spare time? Nice shot Kort!!!
