Description

As you can deduce I have been busy. The 'poem' below, no rhyming again :o(, is an indication of why! Hugs to all for an excellent weekend! ************************************ The stench hit hard As I walked in the office. Burnt wires, Smouldering pieces of PCs Telephone system unavailable Alarm? What is that? I search deeper for damage The lighting's arm is longer than I thought. Battery charger popped it's circuit And has no face left. The two way radio that was attached, Is now single and broken. OH NO! The wages program! Hidden beneath strands of melted transformers. Printer's gone to heaven along with my mouse and keyboard. Hah! My own PC is fine! I had a guardian angel! My lightning protector. My backup's in place All my work secure and safe At least it is quiet with no incoming calls.

I'll second that! But you may need to replace the protector after a strike. The fusible link must have absorbed some of the hit - sacrificial mode and may not be able to take another. On more expensive protectors the LED lights will tell you if it's still okay. But do check. Please -- Dick

As one who has a steel roofed barn next to his house, wired to electric fence, routed into his garage fuse box, and into his home, I have been lightning struck more times than I have fingers and toes. I have learned two valuable lessons - UNPLUG ALL CORDS ON ALL APPLIANCES BEFORE THE STORM HITS! - KEEP ALL IMPORTANT INFO BURNED ON BACK UP CD ROM DISCS! - LOL - Electrical piece, Miss SusiQ!!
