Description
This is the second upload of a WIP image I've been working on for quite a while. The goal is to create a 2x3 foot "painting" to hang on a large wall of our great room. It's getting "closer", but I still would LOVE to hear any constructive comments you may have for me!
Thanks to all the folks here, who have shared knowledge and been a constant source of inspiration! The trees and plants were rendered individually and included as 2D picture objects (more than 10,000 of them at last count!) The sky is from a photo I took. The moose is the only thing I didn't create from scratch - it's from vistainternetproducts.com. Post, including the mat and frame, was done in PSP9.
Thanks in advance! Robin

You flipped it left to right. Somehow that seems to give it better balance. Dunno why that should be but I like it better the way it is now. I also noticed that you toned down the trees along the far shore to give more separation between the forground and midground - again an improvement. The reflections and texture of the water also are better. Perhaps the only thing I can suggest is a slightly stronger, better defined, aspen/birch texture on the foreground tree trunks...excellent progress, keep up the good work.

Thank you again! :)

Hi Robin, When I saw the thumbnail of this, I thought it was a painting! I have no formal training in art, but I know what I like! I think this is excellent! It has depth, the shading is wonderful. The reflections in the water are amazing, I love the trees as well, and think that guslaw is right about the texture on the foreground tree trunks. Your sky and clouds are outstanding as well. For me, and this is a personal preference only, I would be tempted to put more wild life in the image. To me your moose looks a bit lonely. I can say this with certainty, this is a labor of love on your part! I admire that very much! Your time, patience, and dedication to this work in progress must be a passionate committment! Hope to see more! Leanndra

Hi Leanndra! Thanks very much for your comments. You know, I started out with a family of mooses (meese?) and my wife vetoed it. She pointed out that a bull moose doesn't hang out with the wife and kids - he really is a loner. :) Maybe a few birds or something though - I'll give it some thought! Thanks again, Robin
