Description

Came across an old picture the other day, from '96. On the left, a '96 Jeep Cherokee, which I still own. That Jeep has taken me far and wide, with relatively low maintenance. On the right, my '63 Beetle. Sadly, I no longer own that car, but it was awesome. It actually was almost as fast as the Jeep (my brother and I raced each other in them after I bought it). I think that was due to the newer engine and fiberglass body parts. Damn, still wish I had never sold that little beast. The motor was exposed to the elements in a tubular steel crash cage, it had 150 watt halogen reverse lights (operated by a switch on the dash- tailgators beware!), and no back seat- just a carpeted platform. Room for two only. God bless German engineering!

Looks like the beetle was a nicely done Baja conversion rather then the stock car, they can be great fun!
