Took this picture this weekend at a circa 1700's grist mill down the road from my house. I cannot remember what this things function was (it was freezing that day, so I skipped reading the placecards) but it was made entirely of wood, and looked simialr to a worm gear, at least to me. Maybe it had something to do with removing the husk from corn? Still, looked interesting enough to snap a picture of. Photo taken with Fuji Finepix E550 digital Oops, uploaded wrong image. Sorry.
