Description

I've wanted to do this for a long time and after the American Gothic image, figured I'd get it done. A couple of years ago, I recreated VanGogh's "Night Cafe" in Bryce and added brush strokes to make it look like a painting. Here, I only added a little posterization. The painting has no shadows at all and I added some to mine, because it looked very odd without them. Man, how I would love to sit there and talk and sip absinthe with Vincent while watching him paint. Made everything in AmapiPro. Here's the original. He did at least four paintings of the same scene, but I can't find the one I used, on the internet.

Nice work.......... not a bad rendition........ considering this is a 3D model which conforms to accurate perspective rules it's fantastic......... the colours are great........ excellent

Very creative piece, although I am not sure I could hang with Vince for too long. I'd think it would get depressing...still, brilliant rendering done by a brilliant artist of a brilliant work by a brilliant artist.

i just saw his work in vagas in an impressistic gallry and bout a book on him his work is so amazing and beyond his time!!... you did a remarkable job here... AWESOME V!

HEY!!!.....who let you in my room without my permission? Isn't there any privacy anywhere these days!!.....Just kidding....Since Van Gogh is my favorite artist, when I first become a member of the big R 3 years ago I borrowed his monicker as my log on name. Anyway....your 3D version of his painting is excellent.....especially the chairs. And the self portrait of him that is hanging over the bed is one that I recreated using Poser (Micheal's head) and then painted hair and and a beard in Photoshop. And you are right.....watching the real Van Gogh paint would be an experience of a lifetime.

nice homage to mr.van gogh. if you drink enough absinth you will see him as this poison destroys your brain. Here in holland they are promoting drinking it again as if we dont have enough schizos caused by the already available drugs!
