Description

Occasionally, I encounter someone so poor they can't replace their worn-out clothing. This is a portrait of such a person ... her plight tugs mightily at my heartstrings and makes me want to give until it hurts. Painter8 and PSP9

I'm not even going to ask what you mean by "Give till it hurts.." ; ) I love the combination of soft, almost blurry brush work contrasted against the bold illustrative black line! Just like women! A combination of sharp and soft! That creates a wonderful feel of texture!!

Having just looked at the new version [feb '06] of this they both have merit. In this the tension between the skin showing in the jeans and the face seems to be stronger on the lower part not letting the eye look up much. I like the high key background in general tho the highlights on the figure perhaps should be brighter to match?

What do they call people like you ? a dirty ol' man ? hmm, hope you never wash again, nor clean up your act...that seems to be the general census ! The only improvement I could suggest - IMHO - her shadow is a bit unusual ? do you know what I mean ? otherwise your 2D is brill as always... BB
