Description

I finally started the tutorials in "Digital Character Design and Painting" by Don Seegmiller. It's an excellent book and I only regret that it's taken so long to get to it. It's opening a whole new way of using Painter 8. I drew a sketch to closely match the one in the tutorial, scanned it into Painter and with the step-by-step instruction in the book had a good go at it. All comments and suggestions are welcome. And thanks to all for previous comments as they are really appreciated.

This is excellent - credit to you and the tutorial, by the sound of it. I like the balance you've struck between realism, caricature and fantasy. If I could rate this :-), I'd give it an 'excellent'.

I recognized the Seegmiller tutorial--what impresses me is how close you got to the original--pretty impressive painting! And no matter what they say, Painter is not easy to control!

The overall looks very pleasing. The thumbnail has almost tricked me that this is an oil painting and not a digital work.I do not know how close to the instructions you are, but this is irrelevant to me. It is a beautiful drawing.
