BIO
I spent 5 years working for a leading Park Ave, advertising firm. From there I moved on and I am currently a Telecommunications and Networking professional working on projects around the world. I get to do 3D for my job but not nearly as much as I'd like. Lightwave, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver are but a few apps in which I am proficient.

Wow, that's one heck of a modeling job. Well, here's to all the Stargaters in the world! Well done!

is there anyway I can convert to poser? I think your modeling is the best I have seen for a stargate and it is my favorite scifi show

Ok the issue with poser is this. First the is a multi layer object. The different elements reside in layers to make the scene more manageable. No I could flatten all of the bojects into one layer but then you loose some of the flexibility such as making the inner ring spin, reproducing the gate dialing. The second issue is that poser seems to apply polygon smoothing to any mesh imported into it. As this mesh has many sharp angled surfaces and they are intended to be such. Any smoothing that poser applies will make many surfaces look really bad. Now I could include the model exported as a OBJ file that will import into poser but then taking care of the smoothing problem will be up to you.

beats mine..;) I'm just impressed you found a solid Stargate Font (I had to fill in all of the letters...sigh..;) Great modeling. Just needs the 20mm canons on each side and it's complete..keep with it..

I really like it very much but you may want to work on the lighting to improve the quality of the image .-)
