Description

A "resurrection" of this image from four years ago. It's one I've always been fond of, but felt it could be improved upon, so I reworked the colour scheme and brought out a couple of objects. Thank you as always :-)

Well, well, I almost said: Here is the old Synapse back, then I saw it is a rework. Anyway, it is sooo beautiful! It makes me think of that big ice hotel they build every year in northern Sweden. More than just a hotel, it has scenes for theatre plays and other artist's events, and is rather famous.

Thanks for the comments :-) It's ironic that people are seeing a suggestion of snow within this as it's the first day of Summer down here and we're sitting under the big ceiling fan even though it's now night-time :-)

The original makes me think of snow a little, maybe because it has that sense of quiet serenity with a subtle sense of things going on below the surface, it could just as easily make me think of an abstract about consciousness though! This one has a much darker & more striking intensity, I love the way the soft almost lyrical flow contrasts with that intense feeling & how the composition compels me to explore that bottom right corner! A beautiful & thought provoking piece Jim ; )

I appreciate the frosty look of this fine composition. OK, so maybe that wasn't the intent but wonderful color and textures. V

I like the richness of this version over the original so much more depth, I too am reminded of the swirling patterns you find in very thin sheet ice. So please the sun is shinning for you Jim here it is wet, cold and dark!
