Description

Today I have the opportunity to Introduce my friend Wim who left his family for a week to join me here in the Alps (thank you so much, Anke!). On the background you can see the Langgletscher (Lang Glacier) and for those with good eyes, left from the Lötschenlücke (the saddle of snow at the end of the glacier) at 3178 m (10427 ft), you can distinguish the Hollandiahütte at 3235 m (10614 ft). Fortunately we had planned not to go to this hut, it would be too far and we would have to walk over the glacier for which we are not equipped properly. In place of that our target is the Anenhütte (in German only, also spelled as Aanenhütte, it took me a long time to find information about this hut on the internet due to a different spelling) at 2355 m (7726 ft), the building that is visible right above Wim's head. A nice hike of about 600 m (about 2000 ft), a good start of our first day together! More information about huts can be found at http://geo7.begasoft.ch/afp2/Aol.aspx?la=de, unforturnately only in German and French, but very complete. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 150 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Supurb photo, I like the sense of scale and the effect of introducing human elements in the landscapes.

The mountain peaks looks so very treacherous that even my eyes won't be able to handle the climb from here. The view is most beautiful and my imagination takes me climbing with you guys. Good to see Wim with you on this hike. Excellent and be careful. Aloha
