Karlie wandered the ruins, looking for signs of her party, not daring to shout for fear of attracting one of the many wandering monsters infesting the ruins. As the sun dipped closer to the mountains her heart beat more rapidly. "C'mon, they've got to be here somewhere!" she said to herself, almost desparately to hear a friendly voice. Her footsteps echoed back at her, further heightening anxiety. It was when the mountains overlooking the ruins were tinged with red that the ear-splitting roar sent her scrambling from her weapons. From an archway she had just passed a beast of enormous porportions unfolded itself, wings spreading as it exited the impossibly-small hiding place. Curled horns gleamed in the dying light, and talons flexed eagerly at it regarded Karlie. THe quiet was again rendered asunder with a bestial roar, this time accompanied by a shrill shriek of terror... When one gets a new toy, they cannot resist playing a bit... Thanks for looking!
