Description

This is another watercolor gouache painting I just did. I'm really happy with it and I think it's my best to date. I referenced the pic of a man doing dumb bell curls in a fitness mag. It was in b&w and what caught my eye was the light and shadows on his face and his expression: very intense. When I saw it this idea jumped into my head. It goes along with the current and past story lines with Jason Todd. I made some changes to the guy's hair from the photo and added the costume and there's Batman. I had someone take a pic of me holding a red colar shirt to reference the classic robin costume. Then I did a google search for images of a T-rex, penny, and the Joker card. I just kind of made up the cave and computer stuff. It turned out like I hoped. The original is 11x17 and this scan is from a photocopy. Let me know what you all think. Thanks, Jason

I love your attention to detail. Especially on features such as the belt and the coin, I'd have gone for a more spaced out background, looks a little crowded with the t-rex poppin his face in there, Is really good..... looks a bit like Bruce Campbell. :)

Wow. You are not only a fantastic artist, but also a true Batman fan. It is truely a great thing when the people who have the talent to create powerful images are also true to the character. Well done.
