Description
This is a concept painting done for a book cover of a story about a boy who develops a relationship with a mysterious crow with steely blue, almost human eyes. The final version is somewhat different as the author pointed out that boy was to be 12 years old (which somehow escaped me completely) and wanted the crow's position to be changed and I can not show it yet in any case. So I thought to share this , this version remains mine.

You gotta love commission work when they give your all the details after you are done! LOL! Anyway, this is truly amazing in detail, as always, and you really have a strong grasp of depicting all areas of natuture perfectly! I just wonder if the crow will even teach the boy how to fly! Outstanding work!

Oh? Didn't our people tell you that we changed the crow to an ostrich, Ken?LOL! Brilliant work! Having a hard time believing this is NOT a photo of this young boy composited in here '-)! And I agree wholeheartedly with Norbert in that you are "painting" stuff that us mere mortals can onlyt aspire to render '-)!
