Exhumed recollections,
echoing ghosts of stolen ivory.

Black biro on cartridge paper, tinted in Photoshop.

My first upload for awhile as chaos threw my little family a curve ball so harshly that our heads are still spinning. This image originally started as a collab with Synapse (who's staying with us for awhile), but it echoed so personally how I'm feeling at the moment, I decided to complete it myself.
Thank you as always for viewing and sharing any thoughts you may have.

Well, you know I didn't even want to contribute to this masterpiece for fear of screwing it up: it's so undeniably you that I just couldn't imagine input from me working the way Symbiosis did - you sure have turned me onto biro though :-) It was a pleasure to watch you work on this sweetie, you are an education in your own right. Love ya ;-) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

So this is a sort of one-person "exquisite-corpse", then! That was my first impression anyway. I think I'll have to study this for a while to really take this in. There's just so much delicious detail. Beautifully tinted too! Anyway, welcome back Cassie!

Sorry to hear about the turmoil! This is fantastic! Cthulhu-ish! Love your lines!!!

I like this, watch those biros, the ink can fade rather badly I used to use them quite a lot and found if they were to close to sunlight the black went brown, it was a while ago and the ink may be better now I don't know. They do give a good effect and you can draw so fine and light with them it's amazing. Keep up the good work.

Oh my Cassie...I love this! An image to explore and enjoy in it's tiniest details. At the same time I would like to see it really big on a wall.

Thank you everyone for your lovely words. Sorry Gun, its posted only a tiny bit smaller than the original, any bigger and I think I would have really lost my head L :)

This is totally awe inspiring Cass! I've barely stopped drooling over your wip & now I'm at it all over again, I'm still amazed that you can do this with biro too! An incredible composition with the most beautiful detail, I'll be enjoying this one for a long time to come ; )

Beautiful drawing! Wonderful details ... I keep trying to interpret but I think I will need a little more time!

I love elephants, but this looks like a pissed-off zombie elephant -- even better! You have an awesome talent for self-expression and your artwork has a beautiful flow to it. Good luck on your next peice!

Wow, Cassie, I'm speechless. This is just unbelievably powerful and I can feel the weariness and frustration even looking at it. I am sorry to hear things have been chaotic and difficult. I can only imagine what you are going through. Thank you, though for sharing this with us. It is so nice to see you posting again! You are one incredible artist not to mention one incredible woman!

Your work is always so amazingly intricate, I've missed it and it's awesome to see it here againBIG HUGS This piece is one of those that unfolds itself the more I look at it. I saw the complexity at first, all the fine lines and shading, the twists and turns. The more I look though, the more the elephant face jumps right out, everything curving back through it. I hope things are looking up for all of you!HUGE HUGS

Totally stunning from top to bottom. Inspired, grotesque and beautifully inticate. Brilliant penwork, you are talented indeed. Drawing is a good way of expelling emotions, I hope it helps you and yours.

Have missed your work so much honey, but I understand why and that you probably haven't been in the right head space for it. I love the journey this piece takes you on, the explorations of it all be it a small section or larger. I think it'd be a wonderful exercise to cut a square out of paper and hold it over different parts of the image and see what shows up! hugs hard
