Description

Looking into the other direction (compared with yesterday's glacier in the side-valley), southward, you can see the huge side moraine which I cannot capture with my wide angle lens. The tongue of the glacier can be seen here and I hope new red dots will appear soon to show the size of the glacier! :) Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 28 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

After going back to your last post "Lschental 7 - for Cynthia" and seeing where you are standing now, I'm just amazed that you are still standing on your two feet to take this picture. Love the landscape here. A most Beautiful capture my friend. Aloha

Really stange scars the glacier leaves eh? I remember having to make my way down through moraine fields in Gran Paradiso and was blown away by the size of it, it seemed to go on for miles. The power of a glacier is amazing, as your shots testify.

Interesting. We can even see the most recent side moraine (much smaller) extending diagonally down from the ice front to the right.

Superb view, and the friends are right, it's very strange, the form of the rocks and this points of green here and there. Always more beautiful ! OK, we continue the walk with you in Lschental Jan-Carel ! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! Don't want to wait for 1 day to see your next shot ;o))))) Have a good day my friend. Hugs.

gorgeous colors in the glacier! fascinating to look at! it's just not how i expect glaciers to look. i guess i always expected glaciers to look like ice cubes. silly me! :) Well, i've learned a lot from viewing your gallery! That grassy slope looks like the perfect spot for a picnic. What a gorgeous view & capture, Jan-Carel!!! :)

So impressive this shot! The way the glacier gouges out a track through the ground. Wow. I'll keep an eye out for those red dots!
