Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

The view is impressive and so is Wims condition. I share and understand that feeling of gasping for air too. More air and more water. You guys are surely packed with heavy gear. I'm gasping for air just thinking about it, lol. Enjoying ever bit of your hikes. Excellent. Aloha

Nice to see your friend on your beautiful mountain views... Your story is funny and reminds me so well my own situation : with my overweight and my photographic material, sometimes I have some difficulties to follow the group... ;-) I really like the contrast in color between the blue-grey rocks and the green in the foreground... Excellent visual reportage of your hike, Jan-Carel ! :~)

Excellent photography Jan, of a most beautiful place, especially for hiking. I must say - Wim looks like he's panting a bit too, LOL! Just curiously - what is the elevation this image was captured at? I'd love to know!

Even with all your pant sure it was a wonderfull journey!
suresh_krishna
You have taken an excellent shot despite all the panting. Take heart, you are not the only one to pant in high altitude! I do that all the time climbing more than three stories!! Awesome scenery!

Oui, c'est un vieux truc de randonneur : "que c'est beau ici !" On sort l'appareil photo, on prend tout sont temps pour le rler, on prend plusieurs clich... Mine de rien repose et c'est inoffensif pour l'amour propre :-)

Looks like a pretty impressive mountain in the background there. Bringing out the camera to take some pictures is always a good excuse to pant get ones breath back (at least some of it :)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one having trouble keeping up these days! I actually like the full shot better than the cropped image - it shows the dusting of snow on the rocky slopes :)

Sympathize with your pant, too ! Did Wim tell you not to stop, here, as he seems on the picture ? Bravo for your endurance and great shot !
