Description

(A few I needed to write for a special reason) UNDERTAKER'S NOTES Trying to avoid habits formed From love that once warmed Memories inside the head Memories that live beyond the dead First time I ever had to play The undertaker Pallbearer and grave digger My thinking on the inside worn thin Like the body Im suffering in And I could spend hours And maybe days Look in books for hidden ways Call to ghosts down the hall Search for answers along the wall Talk to myself forever on end And never find a good reason Can't we be given just one chance Just a short and simple glance To see what really can't be seen To be sure beyond isn't just a dream I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYMORE Please don't suffer the little one It hurts me to the bone I can take on anything And take it on alone No more pixies in the brier bush Or honey on the morning sea No more rainbows in the looking glass When the sun shines in on me The wardrobe doors are locked again Although winter's coming soon The garden didn't grow this year So no tea for the afternoon When I feel the dust is rising I wish it would make me sneeze To catch a glimpse of sun sparkle That's caught inside the breeze Please don't suffer the little one It brings me such grief And giving up's the only way I know to bring relief The man in the moon is sleeping He's been sleeping for a year No more stars on the window sill The night sky isn't clear Rowboats stranded on the shore Of dreams lost at bay They understand that things do change And things must go away The wind's stolen all the leaves No breath shows in the cold The warm heart inside freezing From the lack of what to hold Please don't suffer the little one It's reasoning I need to lack If you take her now I'll understand But I'll only want her back Kitty went to sleep early Monday morning. I buried her out yonder next to her big brother. I know somewhere they are both running through a field of ponpunias most likely chasing a snuckle in the land of nognogs. Like a few of my postings before, here is a sample from a children's book I've been working on inspired by her: DARE TO DREAM I took my brush and tube Of paint that glows in the dark And down along my hallway I painted a runway mark That stretched from my study door And out into nowhere Then I sat back and pulled my feet up Onto my old study chair Kitty hopped upon my lap And grabbed the steering wheel She turned to me with eyes agleam And asked me if I dare to dream With a wink and a smiling face "Go for it Kitty!", I said Let's go visit the man in the moon Just to pat him on the head While he's glowing far too bright Let's try to make him sneeze And just for laughs we'll tell him That he smells like funny cheese Kitty put us in high gear And turned on the radio Kitty can't drive too well So I don't know where she'll go You took a left When you should go right If you keep this up We'll crash into night Then tell me Kitty What will you do With stars hanging All over you Don't worry none Kitty said with a smile This thing's on cruise For the next mile I can't explain it easily All went so fast, I couldn't see And home Kitty took a shorter route Heading through the Big Dipper's spout Right back to the man in the moon So I could pat him on the head But he turned quick at us and said "Be careful when you dare to dream I'm not made of sour cream" Then he sneezed an awful gust And blew away both of us
