Description
First, I would like to let you know that I am not back in the saddle, this image is just one of my unfinished works, which are a lot. I have tons of unfinished scenes and I will try to take one at the time.
The scene was made using Bryce and Paint shop, represents my thoughts about how I feel about what wrongly is tought in schools back home, that is the History books which tell the story of Cristopher Colombus and his "Discovery of America".
In reality was an invasion in which thousands of friendly and inocent people were killed, my ancesters offered a peaceful welcome to them and in return they were slaved, forced to take a religion which wasn't theirs and hundreds were killed for oposing.
Doesn't matter how you slice it or dress it up, it can not be a discovery of something that had already been discovered, and taking someone's land by force is an invasion in any language.
Thanks
Juan Castillo

1492, not 1942. Ship hulls are late 18th, to mid 19th century. (Columbus would have loved to have three decks of cannon instead of the tiny ships he actually possessed.) The "discovery" of course refers to the European discovery of the "new" world, which is acceptable phraseology no matter how it is sliced. Innocence and peacefulness was certainly in short supply--on both the Spaniards' part and the cannibals they met. British Royal Navy flags are flying. Other than that it's very pretty and the technique is quite stunning.

Yes I know the boats are not the ones he used, you are missing the point of the scene. And by the way don't know where you were tought that there were canibals what they found in our land. They were as human as they were just with a different color of skin.

Either way, it is a nice picture, especially the water.
