Description

Found this little fellow over in Placerita Canyon nearby my home... I believe he is a corn snake ( correct me if I am wrong! - hope not will have to do the whole image lol)) The pic of him opening his mouth didn't come out so focused as i had hoped.( uhm ..., could you get a snake comming at you like that focused ?? LOL)!!! -So I did a bit of postwork today to try and bring it out better and included other pics too.. Hmm I am not a big snake person here and haha don't really know why I have been running into snakes lately. I don't think these ones are all that dangerous though -i didnt see any fangs... !! heres a little info on the cornsnake here!!.. ______________________________________________ Corn Snake ___Elaphe guttata__ Corn snakes may get their name from the maize corn patterns that adorn their slender bodies. Or perhaps the name stems from the snake

I remember comming across one of these fellows when I use to comb the hillsides of San Bernadino, and as I recall they were not that little - close to 5ft, and it was streached out sunninf itself. I don't remember which one of us ran the fastest! :) Awesome shots Kimmers! Bravo!

I love snakes and love your snake photography! A real spectacular series, Kimmers!!! I also think that it is a corn snake! Most of the poison snakes have elliptical pupils - BUT not all! The tail looks dangerous to me!!! A real gorgeous taken animal photography! Congratulation for it! Even if it's not a poison one - you are a brave woman!!! Bravo!!! VOTE

Nice captures but they have suffered a lot from compression due to the size of this - the ones in the forum were better quality. Nice shots all the same :)

Excuse me but this blurring gives the right quality to this picture. The other two are similar to what a documentary photographer will do. This one has the artistic flavour which distinguish it. Beautiful work ( And I imagine that it must left you a bitter taste as it is common when we confront a potentially lethal creature).
