Description

This image was taken during Fleet Week I think in November of 2005 on the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. We are looking south towards San Francisco. To the right is the Pacific Ocean and to the left is San Francisco Bay. I basically turned this one black and white threw a color layer under it, then I erased the black n white portion to reviel the true color of the bridge, leaving everything else black n white, thus the title Color Blind. If you like this image let me know. I can remove the copy right and this file is much larger then the posted one here so resolution is high.

Beautiful shot, beautifully composed. Me, every time I do something like this I have to come back and Photoshop the lines straigth :} Film? Digital? Lens?

Postcard-pretty!!! Impressive work on the selective coloring...alot of crosses and lines to fill in. If youre using Photoshop or any other editing software that allows you work with layers, i would suggest you try to use a layermask the next time. The advantage with that over working with deleting a layer...is that you can paint it back in if you accidently erase something you want to keep. Just a little something i find useful whenever making something with selective coloring or other isolated effects. Have a great sunday!!! #:O)

it's a FABULOUS capture! nice clarity and excellent composition!! a difficult shot i think but you did very well! i like the b/w and i like the color, but i really don't care for the selective coloring here. i do like selective coloring sometimes and use it occasionally myself, but i find it distracting here. Now that just a personal preference on my part. if you like it then by all means keep it, but i would at least try to erase out the blue. i'm noticing some blue in the water on the far right edge...just a couple of places. Also, i'm seeing some blue in the bridge (toward the very end). Impressive photography! I would be so happy if i had shot this!!! (BTW, San Francisco is my hometown!) :)

I'd like to see the original version, I'm not opposed to the selective coloring, I really like it, just would be nice to see the difference??? Excelent POV btw!!!!!!!

The red in the bridge and b&w combination is very original! Fantastic work! :)

I have the original. But stop my transfer in middle of uploading cause I wanted to add more comments. Big mistake. The Renderosity web site, counted my upload quota for the day but did not post to the gallery. Anyway, yes I did use a layer mask. And the blue is just me being lazy. Thanks for the comments and I will post the original some day.... Carl.

This is an excellent technique. I understand the watermark but it is distracting.
