Description

I forgot it was suger cane harvest around here. I thought they would not have one because of the two big storms around here lay most the cane down. But they have ways of getting the cane anyway. Wish I shot the action as it cut the cane and all. I may have talk them in letting me stand in front of the blades as it turn and cut the cane up close. Sounds dangour but that my middle name hahaahaha just jokeing[Just watch "Who Harry Crumb" with John Candy]that one of the lines in the movie. Well back to the image. I was driveing by a few days ago and saw them burning the cane and I when home thinking of going to shot a nite photos of the cane burning when it got nite. Lol I forgot and it was out at 9pm when I went to shot. Then on Sunday I was passing by and saw this and stop and shot some photos. So here one of them for now. Christmas is comeing on us so I going to post some christmas things tomorrow and the next few days. thanks for looking and commenting and votes

they just said on the news that the prices of sugar are going up as orange juice. I use neither so it does not bother me. I miss southern Louisiana seeing your fotos.

Excellent photo! You must live in Florida, lots of sugar cane grown here. This brings back memories going to "cane grindings" at my great grandfathers house, when I was growing up. You know where they cook the cane juice down into syrup? Never cared for the syrup but love the candy you can make from it. :-)

No matter what the crop the fields look the same after the harvest. Nice POV and depth, that's some nice looking soil there.

Love the angle on this one Jock. It makes a muddy field look more than interesting! As for burning the fields, We cant do that any more in the UK. The smoke is bad for the atmosphere and causes acid rain.

I have seen these waddling out of the field to cross the road near Belle Glade Florida in 1982. Now they have smaller wagons pulled by John Deeres.
