Description

Hi, this is my first attempt at Maya. The object of this was really just to learn how to create water. Any helpful comments would be appreciated:)

I am not a Maya user, but always was interested in looking what artists can do with it. You've done a wonderful job here!

Looks fantastic. I'm not a Maya user, so forgive me if this sounds presumptuous, but the only thing I can see is that the water on the right side looks a little gel-like.

I am jealous too. I have spent 4 months trying to do what you did with your first attempt. When I first bought Maya the only thing that I was able accomplish was a little Visor painting on the 2D canvas. The only constructive comment I would make is, --I would suggest giving the image a little more realistic dimension. Possibly a little distant atmospheric fog, and or maybe some clouds. Besides that I think it is really great work.

Beautiful image. Love the water and how the winding shadows leads the flash-flood into the dried up river bed.

That's a really neat image. Great beginnings to a maya gallery :) One thought tho'..haven't used Maya and don't know if lens flare is postwork or not but it looks a bit "alien". But i really like the realism of the pic...especially the sand dunes.
