In the crib the child stays.
In the manger donkey brays.
In the sky the Angels praise,
On Christmas night, so still.
From afar the wise men come.
Shepherds gather, every one;
Come to see God's own son,
On Christmas night, so still.
Mary holds her babe in arms.
Pipers play their good night charms.
Angels hold at bay the storms,
On Christmas night, so still.
Mary's joy, and Mary's pain,
Son of God, for Earth's regain.
Raise you voice in joy's refrain,
On Christmas night, so still.
