Description

Just last week this project was dropped in my lap on top of at least six other burning hot jobs. Everyone wanted their special project done before the holiday. Client wanted this one a day and a half after they gave it to me, and for once i said no. So i wrapped up the comps today. Specs were pretty tight, the client needed this thing to fill very specific requirements. So of course they said "be super creative". I already have one monument sign on the site, the architecture is beautiful, i feel they're drawing too much attention away from an outstanding facade. Size of this thing: 22 feet tall, forty feet wide. The large plaques are 2.5x12 feet. The base is 6 feet tall. The signs will be swapped out regularly, so i had to design something that would facilitate the changes. The clients are all scientists and engineers, they demand reasons for every tiny thing. I tried to keep it as simple and unobtrusive as possible, pick up elements of the architecture as well as make it fit the branding scheme of the company. I'm responsible for their branding art direction. So, the art itself may be kind of boring, but it's my job and the process that goes into this sort of thing can be very intense. When the client approves it, i send an invoice. Then my partner manages the sign company who will erect it. All done telecommuting. No ties required.

I thought this was a recent upload until I seen Cynlee's comment then I read the date. I can appreciate architects demands as I studied architecture and worked as a residential designer for a while and much more with steel structures. your art is definetly pro quality
